Cookie of the month: Month 9

For March, we made brownies with salted caramel. I think the brownies and caramel both tasted awesome. Elizabeth was excited because she got to work at the stove for the first time and I let her use the food processor to make our coarse sea salt fine. Henry, who usually sleeps while we bake, was awake for all of the action. Since he is a climber who loves to join us at the island, I had to strap him on my back to avoid him dumping the batter all over the floor. All in all, it was fun baking.

February at home

We somehow lost our ability to watch (and post to blogspot) our home movies. When we fix that, you'll be bombarded with the two dozen or so best movies we have taken in the last few months. And by 'we,' I'm including Elizabeth, who has probably made close to 100 movies herself. (Although I'm not sure how many of those will make the cut!) In the meantime, here's another photo blog ... of February 2012:

We kept watch over a charming little boy named Felix while his brother drank charcoal to reduce the effects of the nice smelling wintergreen oil he drank:

Henry created his first masterpiece:

Elizabeth and some friends made Valentine's Day cookie masterpieces of their own:

Blocks were played with:

A tent was set up in the back yard in preparation for a future campout that I'm way too excited about when we'll roast marshmellows on the grill:

Elizabeth snapped this picture of a sandy elephant at the National Zoo:

We visited downtown Silver Spring in the hopes that we would fall in love with the place and be excited to living there (the jury is still hung):

We learned that Henry likes to smile with his whole face:

And we visited and became members of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden ... :

... which had a terrarium exhibit:

... a kid's area with a scale:

... and where Elizabeth took this picture, which I think is her best yet

Hope your February was just as much fun!
