January Cookie of the Month: Mexican Wedding Cookies

This month the kids made Polvorones or Mexican Wedding Cookies for the grandpas' Cookie of the Month Club membership. The name Polvorón is derived from Polvo, meaning dust or powder in Spanish, and must have to do with the fact that these nutty cookies are very crumbly. But, crummy or not, we loved these cookies and had a great time making them. Hopefully the grandpas enjoyed them too.

Opa loved the cookies, as did I. They only lasted two days--yummy! Funny that Elizabeth is baking in her skivvies while Henry is fully dressed for the cold, to include the t-shirt under his sweater. Usual thermoregulation differences or was one of them sick?

E is usually dressed up, but is not allowed to bake or eat in dress-up clothing, so she stripped down. She was certainly too excited about baking to bother to put on clothing. Also, she is indeed always hot and Henry doesn't seem to be.

Elizabeth in her undies only in January no less. I read the explanation, but you would think she would be chilly enough to pause and put on some non-dressup clothing.
the cookies were delish. Thanks.
